Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the first One-Day International (ODI) between India women and Australia women at Canberra. The Indian women will be high on confidence as they are coming off an excellent win against these opponents in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. After losing the first two matches in that series, the Australians came back hard and thereby beating Indian women in the third and final T20I at Sydney. Both India and Australia will be led by their regular skippers, Mithali Raj and Meg Lanning. Jhulam Goswami who was named the player of the series will be expected to once again deliver for the hosts to ensure they continue to dominate Australia. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: India Women vs Australia Women, 1st ODI at Canberra

*Australia Women win by 101 runs! The hosts put up a great show as they excelled with both bat and ball. India Women failed to maintain their form from T20Is. India Women final score 175 all out after 46.5 overs* Here is the Match Report

OUT! Sushma Verma c Lanning b Schutt 3 (26)

OUT! Sneh Rana c Healy b Harris 12 (14)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 154/8 in overs 45, Batting: Sneh Rana 8(11), Sushma Verma 3(21): The lower order batsmen are trying their level best to connect and time the shots to get the runs but win looks impossible.

Live Cricket Score, India Women 154/8 in overs 40, Batting: Sneh Rana 1(1), Sushma Verma 0(0): And India lose their last ray of hope as Jhulan Goswami departs for 25. Goswami had started hitting back to back boundaries giving the innings a pace but now with her dismissal Australia’s victory looks even more easy.

OUT! Jhulan Goswami c Blackwell b Perry 25 (29)

OUT! Niranjana Nagarajan run out 12 (17)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 105/4 in overs 35, Batting: Niranjana Nagarajan 2(6), Jhulan Goswami 5(11): The boundaries have stopped coming. Wickets going down frequently and India have only four wickets in hand. Australia are just a few steps away from victory.

OUT! Shikha Pandey c Harris b Perry 13 (24)

OUT! Harmanpreet Kaur b Perry 42 (72)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 105/4 in overs 30, Batting: Shikha Pandey 7(14), Harmanpreet Kaur 41(69): 100 comes up for India and they are lagging way behind! It’s nearly impossible to get back on track from this state and they need a few more hard hitters. Most of the proper batsmen are gone.

Live Cricket Score, India Women 89/3 in overs 25, Batting: Shikha Pandey 2(3), Harmanpreet Kaur 30(50): India are being totally dominated by the hosts. Another wicket goes down and they have no answer to the Australia bowling. There is no batsman who can pull off the entire job single-handedly. The Australia bowlers have done exceptionally well.

OUT! Veda Krishnamurthy run out 6 (22)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 72/3 in overs 20, Batting: Veda Krishnamurthy 1(7), Harmanpreet Kaur 20(38): India lose yet another important wicket as Mithali Raj departs for 21. They were looking in good touch as Raj was hitting boundaries. It is getting harder for India with every over and every falling wicket.

OUT! Mithali Raj lbw b Jess Jonassen 21 (29)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 47/2 in overs 15, Batting: Mithali Raj 16(21), Harmanpreet Kaur 6(22): Mithali Raj helps reducing the pressure with a boundary in every over. The runrate was going down as India kept on losing wickets and the batsmen were facing dots. They need to start looking for boundaries and sixes more frequently.

Live Cricket Score, India Women 28/2 in overs 10, Batting: Mithali Raj 5(9), Harmanpreet Kaur 0(4): BIG BLOW FOR INDIA! Both of India Women’s openers have departed making very little contribution. Captain Mithali Raj has come out to play along with Harmanpreet Kaur. Both have the potential to score big and will have to stay there till the end to chase the runs down.

OUT! Poonam Raut c Meg Lanning b Ellyse Perry 10(24)

OUT! Thirush Kamini run out 10 (24)

Live Cricket Score, India Women 10/0 in overs 5, Batting: Thirush Kamini 5(17), Poonam Raut 4(14): And the first boundary comes off Thirush Kamini’s bat! India have got a steady start but they need quick runs and need not waste much time settling down as the total is quite big. Thirush Kamini is known to be a hard hitter and can do the trick for India here.

*India Women’s innings starts*

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 276/6 in overs 50, Batting: Alyssa Healy 14(7): Australia lose some quick wickets there but they have already posted a huge total. India Women have never scored something more than 240 batting second and this is a real challenge for the ladies. Here is the Innings Report

OUT! Jess Jonassen run out 8(6)

OUT! Ellyse Perry b Shikha Pandey 90(118)

OUT! Grace Harris c Rana b Shikha Pandey 2(5)

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 245/3 in overs 46, Batting: Grace Harris 1(1), Ellyse Perry 83(111): And finally India get the wicket they wanted but it is too late. The damage has been done and Perry is still there. Grace Harris makes her ODI debut today.

OUT! Alex Blackwell c Verma b Gayakwad 114 (112)

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 209/2 in overs 41, Batting: Alex Blackwell 95(76), Ellyse Perry 68(96): Blackwell is on fire here! She is ensuring that at least one boundary comes in every over. Runs are coming in singles as well and the score is going up, up and up! India need wickets.

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 177/2 in overs 36, Batting: Alex Blackwell 68(76), Ellyse Perry 63(88): The two batsmen have settled down and there is no stopping them. The Indian bowlers don’t have answer to the powerful and sensible batting these two are displaying. The run can easily total to a something around 300 and it will not be easy to achieve.

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 147/2 in overs 31, Batting: Alex Blackwell 50(59), Ellyse Perry 51(75): Both Blackwell and Perry get to their individual 50 runs. Pressure building on India now. They need to break the partnership in order to stop them from getting to a good total. The batsmen on the other hand look quite confident.

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 103/2 in overs 26, Batting: Alex Blackwell 24(44), Ellyse Perry 33(60): Ellyse Perry and Alex Blackwell have formed a strong partnership of 40 runs off 72 balls for the third wicket. The Australian Women were struggling in the T20 series but today they seem to be batting with lot more assurance and with a definite plan in their minds. Meg Lanning provided them a good start, as she cracked six boundaries and a six to score 46-ball 43.

Live Cricket Score, Australia Women 45/1 in overs 7, Batting: Meg Lanning 35(27), Ellyse Perry 8(9): A power packed start and a wicket. The first few overs remained eventful as Meg Lanning hammered the Indian bowlers hitting boundaries and sixes but then India’s Jhulan Goswami scalped a much needed wicket of opener Nicole Bolton.

OUT! Nicole Bolton c Mithali Raj b Jhulan Goswami 1 (7)
