Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day One of the Round 8 Group B match of Ranji Trophy 2015-16 between Mumbai and Gujarat at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai are the first and so far only team to be completely clear through to the quarter-final stage of the tournament. Meanwhile Gujarat is in a good position as well, but they need at least 3 points to progress without any question. In case Gujarat do not get those 3 or 6 points then they must get 1 point and hope for a few results to go in their favour. For one, they will need the Punjab vs Tamil Nadu match to produce no result, and will hope that Uttar Pradesh manage an outright win and that either one of Tamil Nadu or Uttar Pradesh are not above Gujarat on quotient. Even if Gujarat get 0 points they will only be eliminated if there is an outright result in the match between Punjab and Tamil Nadu with Uttar Pradesh also beating Baroda outright.
