Greetings! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the first of the two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday. This is Pramod Ananth, and I will be presenting to you the updates of the match as they occur. Pakistan have so far put up a stellar performance in both the Test and ODI series played so far, winning both the series by a margin of 2-1 and 3-2, respectively. They would look to continue this very same performance in the shortest version of the game as well and clinch the series to finish the tour on a high. Sohail Tanvir is the man of the match for his figures of 3 for 29 in four overs as Pakistan complete a 29-run thrashing on Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I at Colombo. Here’s Ayush Gupta’s match report.

Tillakaratne Dilshan too fails Dhananjaya de Silva and Vithange aare the two new batsman. Pakistan have also been a touch scrappy on the field, they will hope to improve as the innings progresses. Sri Lanka have done well in the last couple of overs, not giving away too many boundaries, but their ground fielding has been a touch poor to say the least. Having said that, with Shahid Afridi to follow, Pakistan must look to get close to 160. Umar Akmal looks to have gotten his eye in and could be a danger for Sri Lanka at the death.

Akmal looking to take the aerial route whenever he gets the opportunity. This partnership will be very crucial for Pakistan. Sri Lanka on the other hand need to break this partnership at the earliest. Sri Lanka seem to have pulled things back to a certain extent. But Pakistan have managed to get a few lucky boundaries.

Sri Lanka , on the other hand, had a dreadful series so far as they have managed to loss both the series so far. Although, amost of the matches were a close call and also lost the series just a narrow margin, they believe they can bounce back on the game anytime considering their yoing talent in the squad. T20, being a different ball game could be anybody’s game, and Pakistan should start from the scratch as Lanka could well clinch this off, especially with the home support they have.
