Fantastic day for Pakistan! First they posted a score of 417, thanks to Sarfraz Ahmed’s 96 which gave them the platform, Asad Shafiq with his 131 built on it and Babar’s 56 took the lead past 117. Wahab Riaz continued his good run to dismiss Kaushal Silva and then Yasir Shah got rid of Kumar Sangakkara. They are still 54 runs behind and Pakistan will hope to keep taking wickets to try and force a result.

Dimuth Karunaratne has done well to play through as Sarfraz Ahmed was in full flow behind the stumps. He wanted his team-mates to be loud and put pressure on the batsmen. What a day for Pakistan!

Dimuth Karunaratne continues to be impressive, using his feet well against the two spinners. Mohammad Hafeez is in as the two left handers are batting together. Action right away! Silva is given out caught at short leg but Silva reviews it and survives since there was not much bat there. Wahab Riaz was right on the money in the first over. Sri Lanka know they will be tested here.

Pakistan are all out for 417, gain a 117-run lead. A superb comeback from Pakistan after they were 118 for five at the end of Day Three. Sarfraz Ahmed first hit Sri Lanka hard with his 96 and then Asad Shafiq stepped up with his ton to ensure Pakistan got the lead of over. Can Pakistan from here, force a result?

Pakistan are not quite going for the big shots but are intent on getting a big score on the board so that they have enough to let their bowlers go hard at the hosts. Khan has struggled to find any timing as Lanka start to look desperate for the final wicket.

Yasir Shah was been tested by the short stuff and he gives in moments after Pakistan take a slender lead of two runs. He gloved his pull to Dinesh Chandimal of the bowling of Nuwan Pradeep. How Shafiq bats from here is key for how this game goes ahead.

We’re back for the post-Lunch session! Asad Shafiq has Wahab Riaz for company and both of them will first want to get their team into lead and build it into a big one to put pressure on the hosts. The 100-run stand between the two is also up!

Both Shafiq and Sarfraz are playing their shots as Pakistan get closer to their first target of avoiding the follow-on. Shafiq had a scare when his attempted sweep went wrong but the ball just rolled past the stumps. The 50-run stand between these two batsmen is up as well.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 300 but not after Kaushal Silva scored a brilliant 125 to put the hosts on top despite them losing seven wickets for 122 on Day Three. The bowlers lead by Dhammika Prasad reduced Pakistan to 118 for five at the end of day when rain forced early stumps. They will look to continue to put pressure on Pakistan and force a result. Pakistan did not take their chances when they bowled and were poor with the bat too. None of the batsmen barring Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq showed enough grit to fight it out.
