Captain Aaron Finch said he was confident of Australia A’s chances against India A in the final of the one-day tri-series final at the LC de Villiers Oval in Pretoria on Wednesday.

“When we arrived here this was our goal [reach the final] so I’m really happy we have come so far. I think between us and India we have played more consistently well and we’re looking forward to tomorrow [Wednesday],” said Finch, after the final practice session on Tuesday, as reported by NDTV.

The pitch at the ground has been batsman-friendly. India A’s last match against South Africa A was a run-feast as 827 were scored in total. Shikhar Dhawan lit up the stage with a blistering 150-ball 248 as India A won the match by 39 runs.

Australia A have won both their group matches against India A and Finch is hoping that his batsmen produce the goods one last time.

“There has been a run fest for the batters on this pitch and a hard time for the medium-pacers and we can’t wait to see how it’s going to play out tomorrow after yesterday [Monday],” Finch added.

“We have a team of pretty aggressive players and we’re all very experienced in one-day cricket, we’re very confident of our abilities and it’s been good that we haven’t quite played our best cricket and yet we’ve won three matches so far.
