Former South African Ab de Villiers, who announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this year, has been announced as one of the eight marquee players for the Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) T20 League, the Mzansi Super League.

The former Proteas captain will represent Tshwane Spartans while his former teammates – Hashim Amla, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, JP Duminy and Faf du Plessis are the other seven marquee players in the league.

While Amla will ply his trade for Durban Heat, Rabada will represent Jozi Stars. Tahir has been picked up by Nelson Mandela Bay Giants. Duminy will bolster Cape Town Blitz and du Plessis will play for Paarl Rocks.

The league is scheduled to begin from 16 November this year.  The other players to have signed up with the league are England’s ODI captain Eoin Morgan, T20 superstars Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Rashid Khan.

England’s Dawid Malan and Jason Roy also have signed up with the league.
