During the quarter final match of the English One-Day Cup, Ajinkya Rahane’s impressive half-century pushed Leicestershire to a dramatic victory in the final over against Hampshire. Coming in at number 4, Ajinkya scored a total and a very important score of 70 runs from 86 balls, which had a massive impact in the team’s success.
Hampshire gave out a competitive target of 290 runs in 50 overs, in which captain Nick Gubbins scored a brilliant century as well. Leicestershire had to face a challenging task in their case, as they lost early wickets.
In Leicestershire’s chase, Ajinkya Rahane played a crucial role. His game came out to be a turning point in the match, as he formed a much-needed partnership with the experienced Australian batter Peter Handscomb. Rahane, who is known for his Test match expertise, showcased his ability to hit powerful shots as he his two boundaries and three sixes.
