Alastair Cook, Ian Bell dismissed in quick succession in The Ashes 2015 1st Test at Cardiff

Alastair Cook and Ian Bell were dismissed in quick succession in the first Test between England and Australia at Cardiff in The Ashes 2015. Cook tried to cut one from Nathan Lyon only to feather an edge to Brad Haddin. Ian Bell looked jumpy early in his innings, and was done in by a terrific in-swinging yorker from Mitchell Starc. Earlier, Adam Lyth was the first man to be dismissed in Josh Hazlewood became the first man to take a wicket Hazlewood bowled one on the off stump, and Lyth looked to work it away on the leg side. The ball took the leading edge to gully, where David Warner took an excellent catch. Lyth was out for six. Earlier, Alastair Cook won the toss and decided that England would bat first. Cook went in with three frontline seamers in James Anderson, Stuart Broad, and Mark Wood, along with all rounders Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Moeen Ali. Meanwhile, Australia chose three pacers in Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, the spin of Nathan Lyon, and all-rounder Shane Watson.
