South Africa’s bowling coach Allan Donald has returned home from Abu Dhabi due to personal reasons in the middle of the Test series against Pakistan in UAE.

According to Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) media release, Donald’s return to the tour is unclear and high performance coach Vincent Barnes will take the former’s place for the remaining Tests.

“One of the key characteristics of our environment has been our commitment to making sure our players and management are in a good space both on and off the field,” South African team manager Dr. Mohammad Moosajee said, as reported by www.express.co.uk.

“Vinnie [Barnes] has worked closely with [coach] Russell [Domingo] and [former coach] Gary [Kirsten] in the past and will no doubt fit in comfortably into the environment.

“We wish Allan all of the best during this difficult time.”

This has come just three days ahead of South Africa’s second Test against Pakistan after they lost the first match by seven wickets at Abu Dhabi.
