With Brendon McCullum playing his last Test series against Australia at Christchurch, the news of him retiring has left many empty heart. Cricketers from all around the globe have payed tribute the New Zealand skipper. This was McCullum’s 12th Test ton, making it much more memorable one. He started his innings hitting Mitchell Marsh for a massive six, his 101st mind you. McCullum added another 4 to his tally by the time he got to his hundred, also hit 17 fours so far. McCullum now sits on top of an illustrious list of players who have recorded fastest centuries. Coming in at No.2 is Sir Vivian Richards who got to his hundred of just 56 balls against England way back in 1985. He also toppled Australian batsman Adam Gilchrist for maximum sixes by scoring his 101 sixes on Day 1 of 2nd Test. McCullum was given guard of honor for by Australian players as soon as he entered to play in the ground. He scored 21 boundaries and six 6’s to reach 145 and scored it for mere 79 balls.
