Cricket Australia (CA) has on Wednesday confirmed that it has successfully recovered 2,890 tickets that were being sold against CA’s ticketing terms and conditions to the Magellan Ashes Test at the WACA Ground. The tickets were identified as linked to scalped tickets being sold at a premium through Queen of Tickets (on eBay). The recovered tickets will be placed back on sale on Monday 28 August with priority being given to the Australian Cricket Family database from 10:00am WST, before the remaining tickets will be available to the general public from 1:00pm WST. Cricket Australia Executive General Manager, Events and Leagues, Anthony Everard said that this recovery was a big win for legitimate fans wanting to attend the Magellan Ashes Series. Ashes 2017-18: CA confirms tickets sale date for Perth Test
“Our team is working extremely hard to identify and stop tickets being re-sold at an inflated value across our venues,” said Mr Everard. “We know that tickets are in high demand for this series and this is a very clear message to those who try to take advantage of the system and scalp tickets at inflated prices, that we will identify and cancel tickets, in accordance with our terms and conditions. Our message to all fans is to not support this practice. Whilst we understand this leads to disappointment with some days of our Tests sold out, you should only purchase from official ticket agencies to ensure you only pay the official prices, and not risk your ticket being cancelled at the gate.” Players resolve dispute with CA; IND, BAN tour & Ashes 2017 to proceed as planned

“Fans who purchase tickets from unauthorised resellers [such as Viagogo, Ticketmaster Resale, Gumtree, eBay etc.] risk paying too much, receiving invalid tickets or no tickets at all. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist fans or verify any tickets purchased through resellers,” Mr Everard concluded. Tickets for all international matches, including the Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes Series and the Magellan Men’s Ashes Series, are on sale now. Ticket options include group bookings of 10 or more, with Official Hospitality and Cricket Australia Travel Office packages also currently available.
