The points table for Asia Cup T20 2016 tournament as well as the team standings is available here. Bangladesh are hosting the Asia Cup 2016 tournament for the second consecutive time, and for the first time ever the competition between the Asian cricket teams is being played in Twenty20 format. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are the four teams that had already qualified for the tournament, whereas UAE became the fifth team to participate. UAE got the better of three other teams — Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Oman — to finish with three wins in as many matches in the qualifying round and enter the main tournament. It was expected that Afghanistan, who played in the last edition of Asia Cup 2014, will go through but that was not how it was meant to be. Afghanistan won only two matches compared to UAE’s three. India began their campaign with a massive win by 45 runs over Bangladesh, and defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets. Meanwhile, both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have slammed UAE in their respective matches. India defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets, and the defending champions lost their match to Bangladesh as well! Following is the Asia Cup 2016 points table and team standing list:

Pakistan received their first win over UAE on Monday defeating them by 7 wickets. Though Sri Lanka and Pakistan have not been at their best, but it will be daft to write them off. Bangladesh are slowly picking the pace after successful win against Sri Lanka, gaining the second spot in the points table. On the other hand, Sri Lanka are coming off a 1-2 thrashing in India and they will be bolstered by the return of the senior players.
Following their defeats against Bangladesh, both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been eliminated from the tournament. India and Bangladesh will clash in the final on March 6, 2016.
