Australia announces WTC Final squad, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins make comebacks after injury breaks
Cummins and Hazlewood have recovered from the injuries that sidelined them during the Sri Lanka tour and the Champions Trophy earlier this year. Both made their comebacks through the Indian Premier League.

Australia has announced its squad to face South Africa in the World Test Championship Final at Lord’s next month, as per a release by Cricket Australia.
Cameron Green’s return has been confirmed following his back surgery, and spinner Matt Kuhnemann has also been included, as Australia revealed their squad for the WTC final and the subsequent Caribbean tour on Tuesday.
Brendan Doggett, who was named Player of the Final in the Sheffield Shield, has been included as a travelling reserve in the 15-member squad, which otherwise closely resembles the group that secured series wins over Sri Lanka (2-0) and India (3-1) last summer, with no major unexpected selections.
Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins recovered from injuries that kept them out of the Sri Lanka series and the Champions Trophy earlier this year. Both made their comebacks during the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Australia won four out of the six games to secure a spot in theWTC Final. South Africa topped the table with eight wins from 12 Tests for a points percentage of 69.44, while Australia’s was 67.54 with 13 wins from 19 matches.
“The team finished the WTC cycle with an impressive series victory in Sri Lanka following an equally strong summer in defeating India for the first time in a decade,” selection chair George Bailey said.
“Those series capped a consistent performance across the two-year cycle and now presents us with the incredibly exciting opportunity to defend the World Test Championship.” he said
“It means a lot to the group to reach the final, and they are very much looking forward to the challenge South Africa will present at Lord’s,” Bailey added
