England pick up a huge wicket that of Australia captain Steven Smith for 40 off 50 balls. Smith, who made a century on his One-Day International Captaincy debut against India was looking to charge down the wicket and was stumped by Jos Buttler in spite of not gathering the ball cleanly. Off-spinner Moeen Ali, who tormented India in the previous match, picks up his first wicket in his very first over. Glenn Maxwell has been joined by local boy Mitchell Marsh in this match.

Dismissal of Smith at this stage is a huge blow for Australia as he was the man in form and now the middle and lower-order have to take charge and get Australia to a formidable score. It’s an opportunity for many players to shine just ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015, which begins on February 14.

England had earlier won the toss and elected to field first and are on top of Australia at the moment. Australia are unbeaten in the tri-series so far but England looked revitalised after their crucial win against India in a virtual semi-final in the previous game.
