Australia‘s batting coach Michael Di Venuto has said that domestic player Glen Maxwell, who has played a key role in Kings XI Punjab‘s (KXIP) remarkable performance in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, can play properly.
Di Venuto said that if one actually takes a good look at the technique Maxwell, who plays for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield, deploys when he is batting properly, then he actually has a very good technique.
According to News.com.au, the Australian batting coach has subtly hinted that Maxwell does not bat properly sometimes.
Di Venuto said that it is a great thing when one watches guys like Maxwell scoring hundreds and dominating domestic cricket, as that is all it is.
Di Venuto said that it is about getting out there in Shield cricket and scoring big runs, and that way the people above Maxwell know that he is going well.
Di Venuto said that Maxwell is starting to get cricket, he understands the game, understands his own game a lot more and is adapting to different situations.
