Pakistan‘s middle-order batsman Babar Azam on Tuesday played down any comparison with his Indian rival and skipper Virat Kohli, as he said that there was nothing to be compared between the two, as he deemed Kohli as the best batsman in current cricketing world, while he believes he is a beginner at the moment. He was asked about his feeling on the issue on Twitter, to which he cleared the air with the above said comment. In 2016, Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur too had made a comparison with the Pakistan star and the Indian skipper, where he had said that Azam is an exceptional performer and is equally good as Kohli. Babar Azam: Would like to be as successful performer like Virat Kohli

“There is no comparison. Virat Kohli is a great batsman and I am just a beginner. But I would like to be recalled as [the] Babar Azam of Pakistan,” Azam wrote on Twitter. As for Arthur, he had said, “He [Azam] is a young gun who will be an exceptional player. I’ll go so far as to say, at the same age, I reckon he’s as good as Virat Kohli, which I know that’s high praise but he’s right up there.” Earlier, speaking to reporters, Azam said he dreams of attaining the success that Kohli has achieved. “I don’t play like him, our styles are different. But I would also like to be as successful a performer like Virat Kohli is for his team,” Azam had said. Umar Akmal: Compare me with Virat Kohli when he bats at No.6
