Bangladesh have announced a 15-member squad against Afghanistan for the upcoming 3-match T20I series starting from June 3 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun. Mosaddek Hossain, who played his last T20I against Sri Lanka in April 2017, has made a comeback in the side. The selectors have excluded Imrul Kayes, Nurul Hasan and an injured Taskin Ahmed, who were a part of the Nidahas Trophy 2018. Abu Jayed and Ariful Haque were retained after not getting a game in the tri-nation series in Colombo. Soumya Sarkar, Abu Hider and Mehedi Hasan Miraz have also made it to the squad with decent performance in Nidahas Trophy.
Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin said: “We want to send the best possible side because we are expecting it to be highly contested as they are very competitive side in the shortest format. As a result we were not keen to make lot of changes … Mosaddek missed out recently due to a problem with his eye but as he is fit now and playing well recently, we believe he is one of our future prospect and we still have that faith in him.”
Bangladesh will travel to Dehradun on May 29. The games will be played on June 3, 5 and 7.
