Bangladesh took a crucial lead of 129 runs against Sri Lanka in their first innings. In reply to Sri Lanka’s total of 338 in the first essay, the visitors piled up 467. Shakib faced 159 balls and scored 116 runs with the help of 10 boundaries, whereas Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek slammed their respective fifties. Rahim faced 81 balls and struck 6 boundaries to score 52, and on the other hand, Mosaddek faced 155 balls and cracked 7 boundaries and 2 sixes to score a fine 75.
In their reply, Sri Lanka were 54 for no loss, trailing by yet another 75 runs. Both the openers are off to positive starts and they will aim to reduce the deficit all by themselves. Dimuth Karunaratne has so far faced 43 balls and struck 3 boundaries to score 25, whereas Upul Tharanga too is batting on 25, having faced 35 balls and hit 3 boundaries.
