Lahiru Thirimanne smashed his 12th half-century in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) but was out soon thereafter in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Melbourne on Thursday. He was dropped early in his innings and later survived a stumping chance as well before he settled down and played a good innings. He was unable to get a big score though, as he holed out to Taskin Ahmed off Rubel Hossain. Tillakaratne Dilshan scored the 43rd fifty at the other end as Sri Lanka were able to got off to a wonderful start. Earlier, Kumar Sangakkara became the fourth player to play 400 ODIs, and the third Sri Lankan to do so. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and Angelo Mathews elected to bat first. There was a solitary change in the match, as Dinesh Chandimal came in to replace Jeevan Mendis, who is now out of the World Cup with an injury.
