Mirpur: Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is not happy with the performance of his batsmen though his team won against Zimbabwe in the first T20 International of the series. Bangladesh, fielding first, started well by picking up four wickets with the score reading 38 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday. But Malcolm Waller’s record fifty in 20 balls took Zimbabwe to 131 all out, reports bdnews24.com. Chasing a modest 132 for victory, Bangladesh slipped to 80 for five in the 11th over. Litton Kumer Das, Nasir Hossain Mahmudullah and later Mortaza ensured a four-wicket win with 14 balls remaining with two short but important partnerships. Later, the captain made no attempt to hide his displeasure with the way they won the match. “I am not really satisfied. We got partnerships but we couldn’t get through,” he said on Friday after the match. He rather praised the bowlers for the win. “Waller batted really well today and we got his wicket at the right time,” he said. Mortaza thought the batsmen should not have hurried during the chase,”Big innings from a couple of batsmen would have done it. They could have finished the job. We would have won the match more easily if we batted properly.” Although he maintained that the win was important, Mashrafe hoped the batsmen would correct their mistakes in the next T20 match on Sunday.
