Mukesh was penalised for a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the Code, which relates to the misuse of cricket equipment or damage to ground property.
“Mukesh Kumar admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 (Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match) and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.” the IPL said in a release
Coming to the match, Suryakumar Yadav’s impressive knock of 73 helped Mumbai Indians climb to fourth place in the playoff race as they defeated Delhi Capitals by 59 runs. SKY’s 43-ball innings included seven fours and 6 sixes.
Delhi Capitals, who had a fair psossibility of reaching the final four, were left behind as MI batsmen smashed 48 runs in the last two overs. While chasing 181, Delhi Capitals, missing their regular captain Axar Patel, were bowled out for 121 in 18.2 overs, with Sameer Rizvi top-scoring with 39 runs.
Mitchell Santner was the standout performer among Mumbai Indians bowlers, as he took 3 wickets conceding only 11 runs in his 4 overs, dismissing Rizvi, Vipraj Nigam (20), and Ashutosh Sharma (18). Jasprit Bumrah also delivered a strong performance, picking up 3 wickets for 12 runs in 3.2 overs.
