Cricket Advisory Council (CAC) was duly formed last year to maintain transparency in BCCI’s work last year. One of its duties was to take interview of the shortlisted candidates for the India head coach position and help the board find the most suitable one. However, things took an unfortunate turn when Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly had a go at each other in public, as the former accused Ganguly as well as Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman being biased in the selection. To keep any such episode at bay, BCCI is now learnt to have been thinking of getting rid of the interview procedure. READ: BCCI SGM to be held on July 11

If the regular process is to be followed, the candidates will have to make a presentation with the proposals of their plans of working with the team. “No one has told those applicants on how to go about with this,” a BCCI source disclosed.
