BCCI want Virat Kohli to quit ONGC job

From Sourav Ganguly to Rahul Dravid to Sunil Gavaskar, everyone has faced problems due to conflict of interests. Now Virat Kohli and several of his colleagues have been asked by the BCCI to resign from their respective public sector jobs.

It is common for Indian cricketers to hold jobs at PSU, but in thick of things, even that has come under scanner. From Sourav Ganguly to Rahul Dravid to Sunil Gavaskar, everyone has faced problems. Now Indian skipper Virat Kohli and several of his colleagues have been asked by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to resign from their respective public sector jobs. Kohli holds a manager’s post at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC). He, too, has been asked to resign according to a report in Hindustan Times. Players such as Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Ishant Sharma are also a part of the list who have been asked to put in their papers. Kohli has appeared in several tournaments for the petroleum giants. Earlier, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have held posts at ONGC and played for them.

According to reports, this directive has come from the Committee of Administrators (CoA), who are willing to offer the Indian cricketers a fresh contract. Currently, Kohli and co. are in Sri Lanka, featuring in a full series. The team won the first Test comprehensively at the Galle by 304 runs.
