Bollywood actors and cricketers wished Sachin Tendulkar on his 38th birthday, urging him to continue to play for the country for some more years.

“Life’s dilema every day … what to do … wish a happy Easter Sunday, wish Sachin on birth, or condole the passing of Satya Sai Baba,” Megastar Amitabh Bachchan said on micro-blogging site twitter.

“Wished Sachin last night early morning, got his response too … he is always so gracious!!,” Bachchan said.

His son Abhishek also wished Tendulkar through twitter.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY SACHIN!!!!!,” he said.

“On Sachin’s face you sense internal stillness as he explodes on the crease. Sign of a true karmyogi. Happy Birthday, Sachin. May we be celebrating your centuries on your 40th Birthday too,” filmmaker Shekhar Kapur said.

Actor Siddharth Suryanarayanan of movie ‘Rang De Basanti’, tweeted “Happy Birthday to the greatest batsman in the world, ever! Get ready to party Hyderabad! Go chargers go!!!

“To many more years of joy and perfection from Sachin’s blade, Happy Birthday,” Celebrity Photographer Atul Kasbekar said.

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said, “Here’s wishing Sachin a happy 38th b’day … may god bless him & his family.” Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff tweeted, “Is it the great mans birthday today? If so have a good one Sachin!

“His age is just about the only score that moves slowly like the rest of us. Happy birthday superstar Sachin!,” best-selling novelist Chetan Bhagat said.

Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “Happy 38th birthday to Sachin. Remember first hearing about you from Sunil Gavaskar when you were 14! Wishing you many more years and many more runs.”

Although greetings were pouring in for Tendulkar, the champion batsman has declared that he would not be celebrating his birthday due to Sathya Sai Baba’s demise.
