Australia wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin‘s daughter has been hospitalised, if the statement of former Australia captain Mark Taylor is to be believed. Haddin had opted out of the second Test of the ongoing Ashes 2015 at Lord’s due to personal reasons, which has just come to light. Haddin’s absence from the second Test paved way for the debut of Peter Nevill as the wicketkeeper for Australia. Nevill was seen practising in the nets with coach Darren Lehmann ahead of the second Test. Nevill was later handed his debut cap at the start of the second Test by former Australia captain Steve Waugh. ALSO READ: Peter Nevill set to replace Brad Haddin

Australia won the toss at the start of the Lord’s Test and elected to bat. While the England lineup remained unchanged from the first Test, Australia decided to bring in Nevill along with Mitchell Marsh in place of Haddin and Shane Watson, both of whom had come under a plenty of fire in the recent past for their poor run of form, both with the bat and the ball/gloves.
