Indian batter Venkatesh Iyer will be featuring for reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming IPL season after getting sold for a gigantic fee of 23.75 crore.

This makes the left-handed batter the third-most expensive buy of the 2025 auction so far only behind Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.

It is safe to say that no one was expecting the batter to go for such a high price at the auction despite him being included in the marquee list. Venkatesh is also KKR’s first buy of the auction as they have been unable to garner the services of other players that they bid for.
