Zimbabwe, ahead of a big tournament like the ICC World T20 2016, have been dealt a major blow in the knowledge that their premier seam bowler, Brian Vitori, has been deemed to be having an illegal action by the International Cricket Council (ICC). As a result of the finding, Vitori has been suspended from bowling till he remodels his action in a manner that can be seen to be legal. This comes as a mojor setback for the already struggling Zimbabwean outfit. The ICC stated that all variations of his deliveries saw his arm flex over the permissible 15 degree limit.

Vitori has been one of the better bowlers for Zimbabwe in the One-Day International (ODI) format, but has failed to translate that success in the shortest format. In 11 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) he has managed to pick just four wickets at an abysmal average of 80.75. However, in 19 ODIs the 25-year-old has taken 26 wickets at an average of 36.38.

Vitori can apply for re-admission after he remodels his action but the likeliness of this happening in time to have him match-ready for the ICC World T20 2016 seem slim. Zimbabwe will have to cope without his services in the tournament it seems from here.
