Australia cricketer Cameron White has credited former international Darren Lehmann’s advice as the reason behind his successful run in past few months.

White, who was struggling with poor form with the bat in last few seasons, wherein he averaged below eight with the bat for the Melbourne Stars in last year’s Big Bash League and not only lost his spot as captain, but also player in the national side.

The transformation happened during his Indian Premier League 2012 stint with the Deccan Chargers, as Lehmann, the coach of Deccan Chargers, gave a few tips to White about his batting stance.

“I made (just) one slight adjustment to my batting,” said White.

“I used to waggle my bat around in my stance. Now I’m just holding it dead still. That was it. Part of that was going to the IPL and experiencing something different.

“Darren Lehmann … I went there and worked with. He made that small remark and comment about my back lift and he thought that it was affecting my game. As you do, I listened to a great player and a coach and it made a lot of sense.

“I changed it and it was one of those things that just worked for me. It seems very simple and quite stupid probably as well, but it seems to be working at the moment,” White was quoted as saying by Sportal.com.au
