Cheteshwar Pujara was included in Saurashtra team for the West Zone league T20 tournament starting from March 30 in Mumbai.
“Jaydev Shah named captain of the 15-member squad, which will play its first match against Maharashtra on March 31,” Himanshu Shah, Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) media manager, said in a release.
Pujara did not play in West Zone one-day tournament held from February 27 to March 5 as he was in national squad for Asia Cup 2014.
In his absence, Saurashtra could register only one victory which was against Gujarat.
Pujara’s inclusion will give a boost to Saurashtra’s chances.
“Top two teams will qualify to play in Syed Mustaq Ali (all India T20 super league cum knock out tournament) which will be played in Rajkot from April 8, 2014,” Shah said.
Saurashtra has made two changes by including Pujara and Dinesh Nakrani and dropped Nayan Doshi and Rahul Dave from the team that had played in West Zone one-day tournament.
