CHK and Regal Hotels announce major partnership deal

CHK have on Friday announced a one-year partnership with iconic international brand, Regal Hotels International, reaffirming the rapid growth of the sport in the city.

Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) have on Friday announced a one-year partnership with iconic international brand, Regal Hotels International, reaffirming the rapid growth of the sport in the city. The partnership highlights Regal’s commitment to promoting sport in Hong Kong and encouraging international sports events to be hosted in the city. With CHK hosting more tournaments and international fixtures than ever before, the deal will see all international tour squads and guests accommodated at one of Regal’s world-class hotels in the city. In 2017, the calendar includes Hong Kong’s upcoming series against the Netherlands and key events such as the Hong Kong T20 Blitz, Women’s East Asia Cup and Hong Kong Sixes in October 2017.

Amid news of big name player singings for the Blitz in March, the deal continues what is shaping as a landmark year for the cricket in 2017. “We are delighted to be aligned with a true international brand based in Hong Kong like Regal Hotels,” Cricket Hong Kong CEO Tim Cutler said. “Regal are one of the leading hotel groups in both Hong Kong and China and as the SAR’s highest ranked major sports team, we share the same values in striving for a world class standard.”

With a rich history dating back to 1979, Regal Hotels International has a portfolio consisting of around 8,900 rooms and 83 restaurants and bars. Regal is one of the largest hotel operators in Hong Kong, with an expanding presence in mainland China. In these few years, major international sports events held in Hong Kong have grown significantly both in scale and level of participation. The Hong Kong Government has allocated substantial additional resources to promote sports in the community, support elite sports and maintain Hong Kong as a centre for major international sports events.
