“As a result Chris Gayle has retained Mark O’Brien, a leading Australian media lawyer to immediately commence defamation proceedings against Fairfax Media,” the release added.

The Australian reported that Mark O’Brien used to work with Fairfax Media in their defamation cases, and then represented Joe Hockey in his defamation action against the publishing house last year.

In their exclusive report, the Fairfax Media claimed that Gayle was inside the pavilion as his team trained outside. A woman, working at the Sydney Cricket Ground, ventured inside as she was hungry and was looking for food. She came across Gayle and his teammate, with the former wrapped in a towel. Gayle is alleged to have slipped down his towel a little bit, and for asking ‘Are you looking for this’ as he exposed his genitals.
