Trinbago Knight Riders register a win in the eliminator knocking out St Lucia Zouks out of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016. Trinbago Knight Riders were given a target of 165, thanks to fireworks from Darren Sammy and Shane Shillinford in final overs. For the winning team Brendon McCullum stayed till the end as he ensured they reach home safely. Sunil Narine’s fireworks in penultimate over saw his side win the match with 9 balls to spare. Earlier openers Umar Akmal and Colin Munro got Trinbago Knight Riders off to a flyer in powerplay overs after Hashim Amla fell early. They were 2 for 60 after 5 overs lowering the required run-rate down. Brendon McCullum took charge of the chase as he kept the boundaries coming from other end. Ramdin got out after sharing a 51-run stand with McCullum. Dwayne Bravo joined him in the middle. Bravo got out soon, Sunil Narine came in to bat after him. Narine ended the game in the penultimate over with 2 sixes avoiding any drama in the final over.

St Lucia Zouks were off to a good start as openers Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles shared partnership of 62 runs going over 8 runs per over. In a matter of few overs, they lost a flurry of wickets. After Charles got out Shane Watson and Michael Hussey got out early into the innings. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. However, skipper Darren Sammy and Shane Shillingford sent the ball in the crowd a few times in the final overs to post a fighting total for their side.
