Cricket South Africa is likely to announce the coach for the national team early next month with the process scheduled to finish on Tuesday.

The selection committee – comprising chairman Gerald Majola, selection convener Andrew Hudson, players representative Boeta Dippenaar, former coach Corrie van Zyl, CSA Board representative Andy O Connor and psychologist Johann Coetzee – will meet on Monday in Johannesburg to begin a process of interviewing and psychometric testing of suitable candidates.

Even though Cricket South Africa have not officially revealed the names of the candidates, reports suggest that the two main contenders are former India coach Gary Kirsten and current Cape Cobras coach Richard Pybus. Other candidates are said to be Highveld Lions coach Dave Nosworthy and Proteas assistant coach Vincent Barnes.

Proteas are to play their next international series against Australia in October.
