Bumrah sparked an England batting collapse in the first innings, allowing India to take a large lead. In the second innings, he struck three more times on a non-responsive pitch, and India won the match in four days. Bumrah’s excellence helped him become the first Indian pacer to reach the top of the Test rankings.
With the third Test scheduled to begin on Thursday, there has been a lot of talk about Bumrah’s workload. Earlier reports stated that Bumrah would skip the game in Rajkot. However, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday that Bumrah will be in the team for the match.

Dale Steyn, a former South African pacer, believes India does not miss Bumrah since the step-in bowlers are capable of doing the job.
“As an Indian player, there would be a lot of workload. India plays a lot of cricket and is one of the world’s most sought-after teams. It appears that India doesn’t miss him because the stand-in bowlers are equal to the task, which is a huge compliment to Indian cricket,” Steyn told the media ahead of the SA20 final.
For those who are new, India played Mohammed Siraj in the first Test, but Mukesh Kumar was chosen ahead of him in the second Test to partner Bumrah. However, Siraj and Mukesh were unable to trouble the English hitters, while Bumrah was the star of the show.
However, Steyn, the bowling coach of SunRisers Eastern Cape, summed up Bumrah’s brilliance by stating that he does not rely on pace-friendly tracks.
“He’s an excellent bowler overall. And given his skiddy style of action, it’s no wonder that he has it. He is exceptional at taking wickets on such soft grounds. I don’t believe there are any Test bowlers right now who can rush in and bowl wicket-taking yorkers. There are probably only a few players who can take wickets in Test matches. Trent Boult was one of them, possibly Mitchell Starc. “And obviously, Bumrah,” he said.

“I remember saying a long time ago that a good yorker bowled in India, South Africa, or Australia is still a good yorker because you remove the surface, regardless of where you bowled it.” You take the pitch away, and I believe that’s one thing he’s done exceptionally well.”
