Australia A held the advantage at stumps on Day One of the first Test against India A. They first bundled out the visitors for 230 on board and then were 25 for no loss at the close of play. Cameron Bancroft and Joe Burns were the unbeaten batsmen at the crease. Despite getting off to a steady start and having ten wickets intact at Lunch, a 6 for 32 collapse saw India A crumble after tea. Manish Pandey was the top scorer for India A on the day, with a 77-run knock, that included 13 fours and one six. A steady partnership from openers Faiz Fazal and Akhil Herwadkar took India A to lunch at 65 for no loss. Herwadkar though, was the first one to depart. He was caught at first lsip by Peter Handscomb, off Worall’s delivery. Fazal then played on, to get dismissed on 48 off the bowling of David Moody. Shreyas Iyer then was caught and bowled by spinner Mitchel Swepson. India A were 118 for 3 then. Pandey’s knock then took India A’s ship forward to 188 for 3 at tea. But calamity struck after tea for the visitors. Chadd Sayers got rid of Pandey and Swepson of Karun Nair. Hardik Pandya was back to the pavilion soon. And Shardul Thaukr departed after scoring 17. Varun Aaron and Shahbaz Nadeem were the last two wickets to fall for India A, as Jayant Yadav remained not out at 11. Swepson ended with figures of 4 for 78, along with Moody who ended up with 3 for 26.
Australia A currently trail India A by 205 runs and will look ot get closer to their score on Day Two, will try to go past and take a lead as well.
