Pakistan have lost three wickets in the post-lunch session as they slump to 329 all out at the tea interval. Azhar Ali scored his ninth Test century and his wicket right at the end the session could just prove out to be final nail in the coffin for Pakistan. But the session belonged to Dhammika Prasad, who has now picked up four wickets in this innings, including all three wickets in this session alone. Sri Lanka now need just 153 runs to win the match and level the three-match series at 1-1. LIVE UPDATES: Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, 2nd Test Day 4 at Colombo
Nobody has been able to give Azhar good support at the other end. Asad Shafiq was the first to be dismissed in the session after being caught behind after he had gotten himself off to a decent start. His wicket was soon followed by wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmed’s wicket, who chased a ball outside off and was taken by Dinesh Chandimal behind the wicket. Yasir Shah was the next to go without troubling the scorers after he was bowled by Prasad. Pakistan now need a good effort from their tail to get themselves to a decent score. Wahab Riaz against all odds came out to bat and was the last man dismissed for Pakistan.
Sri Lanka have clearly dominated the session and will hope that they can wrap up the innings when play resumes after Tea. Pakistan will be disappointed with their performance after they were in a decent position at the lunch break. This after Pakistan won the toss on Day One and elected to bat first. They performed poorly in the first innings after they were bowled out for 138. Sri Lanka scored 315 in their first innings and took a 177-run lead.
Brief scores:
Pakistan 138 (Mohammad Hafeez 42, Azhar Ali 26; Dhammika Prasad 3 for 43, Tharindu Kaushal 5 for 42) & 329 (Ahmed Shehzad 69, Azhar Ali 117, Younis Khan 40; Dhammika Prasad 4 for 84, Dushmantha Chameera 3 for 53) lead Sri Lanka 315 (Kaushal Silva 80, Kumar Sangakkara 34, Angelo Mathews 77; Yasir Shah 6 for 96) 152 runs.
