Mumbai: Former India skipper and ex-chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar would head the Cricket Improvement Committee (CIA) of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), according to MCA sources. Vengsarkar, who played 116 Tests, will lead the five-member panel whose other members were yet to be decided, sources said after a meeting of its Managing Committee today.

The 59-year-old former cricketer had contested the MCA’s elections held last week and was elected as one of the two Vice-Presidents. Meanwhile, the Managing Committee also decided to revert one of its oldest tournaments – the Dr H D Kanga League – to its original dates – in the midst of monsoon instead of at the tail-end of the season as was the case over the last two years.
