Dindugul Dragons will clash with Tuti Patriots in the first semi-final of the Tami Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2016. The clash will take place at the India Cements Limited Ground at Sankarnagar in Tirunelveli. The live cricket streaming of the Dindigul Dragons versus Tuti Patriots game will be available on starsports.com and Hotstar, while the live telecast of the match will available on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports HD1. The last time these two teams had met, the match ended in a tie. Dragons although, won that tie in the super over. They were also the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.
The Dragons will be relying on their bowling, which has been effective throughout the tournament for them. T Natarajan’s presence will be of vital importance for them. Despite Ravichandran Ashwin’s absence Dragons still have a strong spin bowling department that can deliver for them. Ashwin was not given clearance by the BCCI to play in the semi-final, as India’s Test series against New Zealand is fast approaching. The runs will have to come from the bats of N Jagadeesan and Ganga Sridhar Raju. The middle-order will have to slightly up their game as well. On the other hand, Tuti Patriots, cruised to the semi-finals stage with the help of three consecutive victories. Lakshmipathy Balaji who recently, announced retirement from First-class cricket, will be leading Patriots’ bowling with his experience. Ganesh Moorthi, Aushik Srinivas and Washington Sundar have also contributed in their own way. But batting which looked like an area of concern for Patriots, will be boosted by the return of Dinesh Karthik who had been playing for India Blue in the Duleep Trophy so far.
