Dinesh Chandimal ruled out of third Test against England

The SLC have named Danushka Gunathilaka, who has played five Tests, as replacement for the injured Chandimal.

Sri Lanka captain Dinesh Chandimal, who picked up a groin injury in the first Test against England and missed the following fixture after suffering a grade-one tear, was on Wednesday ruled out of the third match which begins on Friday at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

“Dinesh Chandimal, who missed the 2nd test due to an injury will not take part in the 3rd Test match vs England, as he is still recovering from the injury,” an official Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) release stated.

The SLC have named Danushka Gunathilaka, who has played five Tests, as replacement for the injured Chandimal. Uncapped youngster Charith Asalanka, who was called as cover for the second game, has been released from the squad for the third match.
