MS Dhoni missed the last match against Mumbai Indians, and his impact was felt as the home team suffered a big loss. The CSK captain has been “pretty sick” during the week but his recovery is “progressing” according to CSK coach Stephen Fleming.
This IPL, Dhoni has missed two matches and CSK have lost both. His leadership and batting have been a huge factor in CSK remaining in the top two all season, and if Dhoni is again absent, as expected, then Delhi are looking like firm favourites.
Game 50 of IPL 2019 is between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and current table-toppers Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai today.
On an expected slow and slow surface, getting the right team combinations is critical. There is also dew expected, which brings focus on how many spinners are fielded.
Delhi Capitals are on top of the IPL 2019 points table and like CSK have confirmed their place in the playoffs. In MS Dhoni’s absence, CSK lost to Mumbai Indians and the iconic skipper is again in doubt for this match.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Possible changes: Ravindra Jadeja for Mitchell Santner.

DELHI CAPITALS
Delhi Capitals will probably go unchanged for this game. Amit Mishra, Axar Patel and Sandeep Lamichhane will be crucial on the slow Chepauk track with fast bowling assistance coming from Kagiso Rabada and the experienced Ishant Sharma.
Possible changes: None.
