“More than 50 per cent of the wickets have been taken by spinners on this wicket. So, spinners will obviously play an important role. This pitch is even-looking, there is no grass on this wicket and there is a little bit more moisture. The skill of the batsmen to score against the spinners might just be the difference in this encounter.”
Today’s IPL 2019 match is between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Match 41 is the second in less than a week between the two teams. MS Dhoni-led CSK are second on the IPL 2019 points table and SRH are fourth.
CSK remained on top of the points table for several weeks but slipped to second on Monday after Delhi Capitals beat Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
Back at home after two aways matches, both of which they lost, CSK will be hopeful of getting back to winning ways.

Back at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, CSK may want to reinforce their spin bowling with the addition of Harbhajan Singh instead of Shardul Thakur. Shane Watson, after a run of low scores, could face the axe if the management opt for Mitchell Santner. In this scenario, Ambati Rayudu may get promoted back to opening.
The other option is to get Sam Billings in as opener for Watson.
