India Red continued their dominance over India Green at the dinner break on Day One of the Duleep Trophy 2017-18 at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday. It is Priyank Panchal‘s unbeaten 68 which has so far kept the Reds at the bay and have shown no sign of any defect. While earlier, it was Sudip Chaterjee, who fell just after scoring his half-century, as Ankit Chaudhary dismissed him for 52. Along with Panchal, it’s Ishank Jaggi, who is currently supporting the Red innings as he remains unbeaten on 18, playing a slow, steady and a composed innings. As for the Greens, they have hardly managed to trouble the Reds. Live Cricket Updates, Duleep Trophy 2017-18, India Red vs India Green at Lucknow, Day 1
Earlier, Reds skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and elected to bat first, as the openers were off to a solid start, who put up a 61-run stand until the lunch. Following the resumption from the lunch break, Sudip scored his half-century, but fell for 52 to Ankit as the score read 83 for the loss of a wicket. However, there was hardly anything to panic, as incoming batsman Jaggi ahs strongly supported Panchal so far. The pitch seems to be batting friendly for now and is not expected to change in the upcoming session as well. However, would be interesting to see how things go on Day Two. Ankit has been the only wickettaker for the Greens, with the figures of one for 27.
Brief scores
India Red 141 for 1 (Sudip Chaterjee 52, Priyank Panchal 68*; Ankit Chaudhary 1 for 27) vs India Green.
