West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo has gone past 5,000 runs in T20s. He achieved this feat during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 match between Barbados Tridents (BT) and Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) at Bridgetown, Barbados. Bravo is also only the fourth West Indies player after Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Smith to have scored more than 5,000 runs in the shortest format. He scored an unbeaten 11-ball 23 to help TKR beat BT by seven wickets with 14 balls to spare. Bravo also has 33o T20 wickets to his name in 317 matches so far. Bravo has played T20 cricket across the world for many teams over the years. Before the CPL, he turned up in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the newly-formed franchise Gujarat Lions. He has also played in the Big Bash League (BBL), Pakistan Super League (PSL) , Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and also in the NatWest T20 Blast in England.

Bravo also has a good record for West Indies in T20Is. He has scored 1054 runs and picked up 49 wickets for his national team. He was part of the winning West Indies side that beat England at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in the T20 World Cup final to lift their second title. He has however no represented West Indies in Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODI) since 2010 and 2014 respectively due to the ongoing tiff between him and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
