England have announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy to be played next month. All-rounder Ravi Bopara has been recalled to the squad led by Alastair Cook.

England have chosen to go with Ravi Bopara for the all-rounder’s role while Samit Patel has been excluded. However, England will miss Kevin Pietersen’s services as the batsman misses out the tournament due to a knee injury. England have six players in the present squad who were part of the 2009 campaign when they reached the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy.

The selected squad will get a fair chance to test its strength when they face New Zealand in the three-match ODI series prior to the beginning of the coveted tournament. England will begin their campaign against Australia at Birmingham on June 8.
