South Africa made a terrific comeback with the ball to reduce England to 22 for two at lunch on Day Two after getting bowled out for 313. Resuming from their overnight score of 267 for the loss of seven wickets in the ongoing third Test at Johannesburg, the tail-enders persisted for some time in order to guide their side past the 300-run mark, with Jonny Bairstow taking two catches in the morning to equal the record for most Test catches in an innings at the Wanderers currently held by former England wicketkeeper Jack Russell. England lost the wickets of openers Alex Hales (1) and Alastair Cook (18), who were dismissed off the bowling of Kagiso Rabada and Hardus Viljoen, the latter taking his maiden international wicket off his very first ball! Nick Compton and Joe Root were both batting on two at the time of the umpires taking the bails off. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: South Africa vs England 2015-16, 3rd Test at Johannesburg, Day 2
South Africa were earlier bowled out for a score of 313 after resuming from their overnight score of 267 for seven. The partnership between Rabada and Chris Morris, which was worth 42 at the end of Day 1, crossed the 50-run mark thanks to a few byes before James Anderson broke the partnership with his first wicket of the innings. Rabada departed barely a couple of deliveries later, as Bairstow took his second catch of the morning, and sixth of the innings. Morne Morkel and Viljoen however, managed to stitch a 32-run stand for the final wicket to ensure their team won a moral victory by crossing the 300-run mark.
