England struggle at 147-4 at tea on Day 1 of 4th Test vs South Africa

England were struggling at 147 for the loss of four wickets during the tea break on Day 1 of the fourth and final Test against South Africa at Manchester.

Hosts England had a tough post-lunch session, as compare to the pre-lunch, as they were struggling at 147 for the loss of four wickets during the tea break on Day 1 of the fourth and final Test against visitors South Africa at Old Trafford in Manchester on Friday. England lost three wickets in the post-lunch session after having lost just one in the pre-lunch session. As of now, former skipper Alastair Cook has been the top scorer in the innings, after having scored a healthy 46. Currently, skipper Joe Root is batting on 34, while Ben Stokes has just made hi way in, remaining unbeaten on a single. During the post-lunch session, England continued from 67 for the loss of a wicket, as Cook, along with Tom Westley brought up the 50-run stand for the second wicket. However, at the score of 92, it was Cook, who fell for 46 to Keshav Maharaj, after being caught behind by Quinton de Kock. Just three overs later, he was followed by Westley for 29, dismissed off Kagiso Rabada in a similar manner. Nevertheless, it was followed by another decent 50-run stand, for the fourth wicket, between Root and Dawid Malan, before Malan fell for mere 18 to Morne Morkel, after being caught by skipper Faf du Plessis. Earlier, Earlier, England skipper Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first, as England reached 67 for the loss of a wicket at the lunch break, with Cook, along with Westley at the crease, who were batting on 31 and 19, respectively. All the South African bowlers have so far claimed a wicket each, except for Thomas de Bruyn.
