England take on Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI of the series at The Oval. England lost the only T20 match and will be looking to perform better this time around. This match marks the start of the hectic schedule of England over the summer. Sri Lanka won the T20 match and will be looking to continue their good form.

England won the ODI series against Scotland before playing Sri Lanka and will be looking to perform well under their new coach — Peter Moores. Alastair Cook has lost a few key players but will be hoping to their new player and a mix of youth and experience will be beneficial for them.
Sri Lanka are high on confidence on the international circuit after lifting the ICC World T20 2014. Angelo Mathews will be leading the side and with the likes of Mahela Jaywardene and Kumar Sangakkara by his side, he will be looking he can lead his side to victory. Lasith Malinga will be their lead bowler and will look to guide his team to victory.
