(England clash with Sri Lanka in ICC World T20 2014 at Chittagong on March 27. Catch Live Cricket Score of the match in our updates below).

Its a record run-chase by England and its just the tip of the record breaking iceberg tonight and without a shadow of a doubt, Alex Hales is named the man of the match.
Its Angelo Mathews who will bowl the last over and the second ball is smashed to the mid-wicket fence for a six and England win! Take a bow Alexander Daniel Hales.
Kulasekera’s final over now and Hales crashes to cover-point to get a couple and then lifts the ball in the same region over Kusal Perera to get to a magnificent hundred. The Nottingham man smashes one over mid-wicket for a towering six. This should go down as one of the greatest T20 innings and records are ready to tumble today. England need seven of the last over
Its Malinga’s last over. Bopara glides the first ball to the boundary to the third man fence. Its a carbon copy in the second ball off a slightly loose delivery by Malinga but the result is yet another boundary. Another beautiful yorker from Malinga misses the stumps and Alex Hales keeps the strike.
Chandimal and Sri Lanka are desperate for wicket they have turned to Kulasekara and they are rewarded with a wicket straight away. Morgan departs after not getting enough of the bat to clear Angelo Mathews at long on. Overthrow leaks a double for England but mistimed slash gives Sri Lanka a double break through. Its game on!
OUT! E Morgan 57(37) cMathews bKulasekera, J Buttler 2(3) cChandimal bKulasekera
Just three runs come of the first four and the next ball is spanked expertly four a four by Hales and the England opener moves to the nineties.England need 39 of the last four and this is already the highest ever T20 partnership for the fourth wicket.
Slightly short from Mendis and Hales smashes it to the stands on the leg side. What a hit! Substitute fielder Lahiru Thirimanne does well to save a boundary off the next ball. Hales mishits the ball, it looked like a catch but still crosses the boundary for a six over long on. Its yet another six from the World’s best T20 batsman and he follows it up with a expert on drive for a boundary. World Class batting from Hales.
Morgan reverse-sweeps majestically to bring up his half-century. Its a good over for Sri Lanka under the circumstances after England were going well.England need 73 of the last six.
Hales reaches his fifty with a lovely on-drive of Thisara Perera and England’s 100 and the century partnership comes up. Hales strikes yet another four off a full toss. Now Sri Lanka join the drop catch party and its Mahela Jayawardene. The ball goes for a boundary
After a couple of good overs, the wily Senanayake calms things down and wins honours back for Sri Lanka in this over. Morgan however strikes a beautiful shot through the off side for a boundary.
England are getting a move on. Morgan smashes a six through the off-side and the last. ball is lifted over the gully fieldsman for a boundary.
Morgan welcomes Mathews into the attack with a huge six over long on and a smash though the off-side for a boundary. The third delivery is a cleverly disguised slow delivery and a one handed hoick falls in no man’s land. Hales then flicks the ball to the boundary of the boundary of the next ball and England finally get a productive over.
Mendis is getting the better of Morgan here. Three dot balls and then southpaw flashes on the off-side to fall in no man’s land. The run rate required goes above 12 here. England need 134 runs to win.
50 comes up after it looked like they were going to fold up like Netherlands. Superb over by Senanayake which produced just 5.
Ajantha Mendis is introduced into the attack and Eoin Morgan reverse-sweeps in his typical style for a boundary. England showed an intent to attack in this over.10 came from it. The required rate has crept up to over 11 runs now.
Malinga’s continues to keep the duo on their toes. Its getting harder and harder for England. Hales meanwhile gets another boundary to beat boredom. Six comes from the over.
Senanayake comes into the attack and Morgan flicks to the square leg boundary but this man is expected to make a big impact in the game.
Lasith Malinga is eying the block-hole and is showing why he is such a great exponent of yorkers. The fifth ball is a low full toss which is tucked away to the boundary by Morgan.
In the pursuit of runs, Hales is nearly run out except Dinesh Chadimal’s throw missed the stumps. Hales plays a lovely pull shot to the boundary on his favoured leg side and then the tall opener plays a lovely straight drive.
Alex Hales slaps a couple of fine shots to the boundary on the off side. Mathews is getting some nice movement and Eoin Morgan is at the crease.
Its carnage in the first over. A frustrated Lumb throws his wicket away and Moeen Ali falls to a catch by Senanayake in the second slip.
M Lumb b Kulasekera 0(5), M Ali c Senanayake b Kulasekera 0(1)
They are taking turns aren’t they? A flat strike to long on is guess… dropped! Ravi Bopara is the culprit this time. Perera slashes the next ball and gets a boundary. The ball goes over the fielders who are stationed inside the circle. The last ball is smashed for a big six on the leg side by Mathews and England have a mountain to climb.
Sangakkara looks to get things under way but falls for a first ball duck. Not his game at this stage of the game. There were loose deliveries in this Chris Jordan over but Sri Lanka were unable to get hold of any. Good over for England
K Sangakkara cHales b Jordan 0(1)
Slow delivery by Dernbach and Dlishan plays his quintessential scoop over wicketkeeper Buttler’s head. The third ball is a weak length delivery but hits the ball straight to Chris Jordan in the deep. The last delivery is a slow one and smacked for a six on the leg side by Perera.
OUT!T Dilshan c Jordan b Dernbach 55(47)
Bresnan does well fielding in the deep, diving to his left to atone for some of the sins he committed today. Jayawardene’s silky wrists are in action with a paddle down fine leg for a boundary. Chris Jordan however comes back well in the next delivery to disturb the veteran’s stumps for a majestic 89. Thisara Perera is promoted up the order as a pinch hitter.
OUT! M Jayawardene b Jordan 89(51)
Broad is trying hard and its wayward as you like from the England captain. Dilshan reaches a rather awkward fifty with a long hop over mid off. Like Jayawardene earlier, Dilshan reaches his ninth half century as well.
Sri Lanka are poised for a huge score. Jayawardene caresses a full delivery to the boundary on the off side of Jade Dernbach and dearie me! another drop catch. Easy as they come but Tim Bresnan outscores Dernbach in the drop catch contest today. Jayawardene meanwhile gets another life and a century is in sight.
The hundred partnership comes up and England have only themselves to blame. The Duckworth/Lewis loss in the first game to New Zealand rattling England looks legitimate now. While we are at it, a short delivery is easily slashed over point for a boundary by Jayawardene and the next delivery is smashed over the mid-wicket for a six. A century looks on the cards.
James Tredwell is in his last over and a slash over point brings up Jayawardene his ninth fifty. Eventful week for the man after becoming a father. The ball is smashed over long on by Mahela for another six.
Stuart Broad comes into the attack and Dlishan slams it high and the ball falls in no man’s land. Dernbach is again the culprit for not seeing it early enough and the man is in action again at fine leg but the ball falls well short.
Jayawardene slams back-to-back boundaries and England look like losing the plot. 13 comes of the over and here is a landmark; Jayawardene reaches 100 boundaries.
Chis Jordan is targeting the block hole and the deep fielders are scrapping around for England.
James Treadwell is neat and bowls yet another tidy over under the circumstances.
Dlishan is on the charge! Stuart Broad is slapped for a big six over the deep mid-wicket boundary. The next delivery is pulled for a couple on the leg side and another drop catch! regulation one at that…its Tim Bresnan this time.
England’s bowling hope James Treadwell comes into the attack and its a tidy over under the circumstances. Six of the over.
Chris Jordan is brought into the attack and Jayawardene filcks a half-volley to the square leg boundary. Powerplay overs are done.
Jayawardene continues to attack relentlessly. A short delivery of Bresnan is hooked for a huge six over fine leg and then Jade Dernbach steals the thunder by dropping a an absolute dolly at mid on. Inexplicable really. The Sri Lankan gets a fine edge for a boundary the very next delivery.
Dernbach continues and Jayawardene flicks it for a four off the first delivery. The second one was missed off a good length delivery but the third delivery is glided down, fine to third man for a boundary. Slick stuff from the veteran. Jayawardene is looking good.
First ball by Tim Bresnan is ‘Dilscooped’ for a six over fine leg by the brains behind the unorthodox shot. What a sight it was! Dilshan tries to do the same in the second and the fifth delivery but fails.
Jade Dernbach bowls a wide delivery down the leg side and Perera tries to pull the ball. There is a deviation on the way to keeper Jos Buttler and the umpire raises the finger. Perera is not impressed. Mahela Jayawardene gets a top edge and Michael Lumb takes a diving catch. The third umpire is called for it and gives it not out. Two bad decisions in a row! A wayward last delivery is pulled for four by Jayawardene.
OUT!K Perera 3(6)
England, in recent times start with Moeen Ali in the first over. There is almost a run-out chance in the second ball but Sri Lanka get away. Dew is already playing a part in this game.
