Former cricketer Jonathan Agnew has said that England’s “shambolic” performance against the Netherlands in the ICC World T20 2014 at the end of a disastrous winter raises serious questions about the state of the team and where they go from there.
Agnew hailed the Dutch and believes they thoroughly deserved their 45-run victory in the World T20, adding that to defend a below-par total of 133 for five and win by such a resounding margin was a superb effort from their side.

According to the BBC, Agnew slammed England’s One-Day International (ODI) coach Ashley Giles and T20I captain Stuart Broad for putting the display down to complacency, saying that if there is such a case, then the team is facing a serious issue.
Stating that the current disarray is almost unprecedented, Agnew also said that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) needs to be aware that whatever they decide, people must realise that a coach can only do so much.
He also added that there is no head coach, the captain’s position is being questioned and there are no fixed places in the team.
Agnew further said that as a fully-fledged Test nation of professional cricketers, England should have showed an association side like the Netherlands how the game is played, adding that it is the attitude that they needed to have as an established team.
