In the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Glenn Maxwell got Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) under way with a clacking shot over long on that was almost pouched by Yusuf Pathan in the deep. Yusuf made a desperate dive but it was a difficult effort and the ball dropped in front of Yusuf and went into the boundary ropes. Maxwell then hammered the ball down the ground and it was just a single of though. Score was 96 for three after 12 overs.Click here for the live scorecard and ball by ball commentary of the Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2014 match
Sehwag then played a delicious cut shot that the ball dissected two off-side fielders and the ball went to the boundary and that was Sehwag at his glorious best. Piyush Chawla then bowled a slightly fuller delivery and the ball was quicker than what Maxwell expected and the elevation wasn’t there in the shot. The ball kindly fell in the hands of Morne Morkel at deep mid-wicket. He made 14 of as many balls and there was a huge relief in the Kolkata camp. David Miller came to the crease and the rest of the deliveries of the Chawla over only produced singles.Catch the Live Blog of the KingsXI Punjab (KXIP) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), IPL 2014 match here
Ryan ten Doeschate bowled the 12th over and there was nearly a caught and bowled effort from Sehwag. A half-volley from the bowler saw a lovely lofted drive from Sehwag for another boundary.
